About The Paul R. Eckna Memorial Foundation

The Paul R. Eckna Memorial Foundation was established in 2001 by the family and friends of Paul Eckna, a Garden City resident and Cantor Fitzgerald employee who was killed in the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.

The Foundation is a locally-focused charity that supports academic and scholastic development as well as other charitable activities to children in Paul’s name, including the Paul R. Memorial Scholarships. To date, more that $250,000 in scholarships have been awarded to student-athletes from Garden City to assist with college expenses and tuition, and address the following needs in the community in Paul’s name.

The foundation has been the source of an enormous good for deserving children in our community and a meaningful tribute to the life and legacy of Paul Eckna who was my brother. The Foundation continues to be operated by his family and friends so that all of its proceeds are used directly to respond to local needs.
